The mission of this site is to present the history and genealogy of
the George Tucker Sartwelle family of Del Rio, Texas.
The scope of this site is limited to the direct ancestor line of George
Tucker Sartwelle, although his children are included.
The Sartwelle Family web site (SARTWELLE.COM) is provided to the
public to be used primarily for research into the history and genealogy
of the Sartwelle family. This is a non-commercial site, and nothing
posted here may used for commercial purposes of any type. The goal of
this site is to provide a central place for the collection of historical
material related to the included family lines.
All genealogy sites run the risk of posting personal information that
some individuals would rather not see published in a public forum.
Accordingly, the following is the privacy and acceptable use policy of
the Sartwelle Family web site (SARTWELLE.COM):
Additional historical and/or genealogical information will be provided upon request (when available). Use the contact page to request this additional information.

The source for grave stone sketches on this site is The Sartwelles in America 1635-1981, abstracted by Olivia (Preshy) Sartwelle Barton and Mary Margaret Sartwelle Charlton and compiled by Olivia (Preshy) Sartwelle Barton, 1981. These sketches were made from rubbings of the actual grave markers by Marvin Charlton, Jr., husband of Mary Margaret Sartwelle Charlton.
The Sartwelles in America 1635-1981, abstracted by Olivia (Preshy) Sartwelle Barton and Mary Margaret Sartwelle Charlton and compiled by Olivia (Preshy) Sartwelle Barton, is the source for much of the information on this website.
There is no supporting documentation for John Sawtel, Sr. or John Sawtel, Jr. (grandfather and father of Richard Sawtel). There are numerous consistent references to the relationship in the historical records, but all are without source or supporting information. The same holds true for the ancestors of Elizabeth Pople. The records are consistent, but there is no source information.
