The Sartwelles in America 1635-1981, abstracted by Olivia (Preshy) Sartwelle Barton and Mary Margaret Sartwelle Charlton and compiled by Olivia (Preshy) Sartwelle Barton, 1981. These sketches were made from rubbings of the actual grave markers by Marvin Charlton, Jr., husband of Mary Margaret Sartwelle Charlton.

4. There is no supporting documentation for John Sawtel, Sr. or John Sawtel, Jr. (grandfather and father of Richard Sawtel). There are numerous consistent references to the relationship in the historical records, but all are without source or supporting information. The same holds true for the ancestors of Elizabeth Pople. The records are consistent, but there is no source information
