Asa Sartwell (1781 - 1855)

Asa Sartwell was born on December 1, 1781 in Charlestown, New Hampshire and married Mary (Polly) Williams on December 2, 1805 in Rockingham, Vermont. He died on August 24, 1855 in Claremont, New Hampshire. Asa and Mary are buried in Claremont Cemetery, Section B, Lot 10. They had ten children:

The only birthdates of Asa and Mary Sartwell's children extant are found on gravestones. The church records in which they might have been recorded were destroyed when the church burned in Charlestown, NH in 1842. None of the births is recorded in the town records of Charlestown, NH, Orford, NH, or in the vital statistics office in Concord, NH. Asa Served in the War of 1812.
