Simon Sartwell, Jr. was born on June 25, 1749 in Charlestown, New Hampshire and married Dorothy (Dolly) Gleason in 1780. He died on May 30, 1791 in Charlestown. Simon and Dolly had five children:

Simon Jr. was soldier in American Revolution - a 1st Lieutenant in Company 7, 1st New Hampshire Regiment. He was promoted to Captain at West Point, New York in 1780. Regiment was organized 7 Apr 1777 and was commanded by Col Joseph Cilley. Simon, Jr. is buried in Forest Hills Cemetery, Charlestown, NH lower southeast quadrant.
